About Phoenicia - Natural Skin Care Products Phoenicia was founded by Dr. Valerie K. Ginyard as a result of her ''Risen from the Ashes'' mission. Her daughter, Shannan, suffered with liver disease for seven years and her death occurred from the complications of this disease just after her 18th birthday. One of the lessons of this experience was the fact and realization that the liver is one of the most important organs in the body and is the clearing house for everything that goes into our system. Dr. Ginyard searched for a person to create a natural product line for topical use on the skin. She found such a person in our female chemist who has worked diligently to design our products to our specifications.
